Builder’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

AECRE supports licensed residential builders in British Columbia in meeting BC Housing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements through online and live learning. CPD is a mandatory condition of licence renewal for general contractors building single-family homes and small residential buildings under Part 9 of the BC Building Code.

Our courses are developed in alignment with Schedule 6 of the Homeowner Protection Act Regulation and structured around the core competency areas required for BC Housing’s residential builder licensing. All eligible courses are formally reviewed, verified/ approved, and listed on the BC Housing Education Registry. We provide industry-relevant content, clearly defined learning objectives, and automated, verifiable attendance tracking to guarantee compliance and support your annual licence renewal and ongoing professional competency for builders across British Columbia.

AECRE is committed to maintaining educational standards that meets or exceeds key industry benchmarks, including those established by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA). This ensures your education remains cutting-edge and responsive to regulatory updates and evolving professional best practices.

Reminder: All licensees are required to keep a copy of each completed CPD activity for three years, as BC Housing can request training records at any time to audit CPD completion.
For information about the CPD process, visit BC Housing’s website or call them directly at 604-646-7050.
